Black Adam is a forthcoming fantasy, action, and adventure movie. The film uses a character based on DC Comics. The name of the character is also Black Adam. Critics have expected the movie to be a spin-off from Shazam! (2019). Likewise, it files as the eleventh movie in DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

The first trailer of Black Adam was released on 8th June 2022. Johnson has been assigned to play the titular antagonistic hero since 2014. However, he has wanted to play that character since 2008. Finally, he got a chance to play the role after the directors and writers were on board.
Black Adam, known as Teth Adam from his former life, was born as an enslaved person. Adam was enslaved in an African country Kahndaq where he resided 5,000 years ago. The character himself discloses about him being enslaved until he dies. Black Adam’s son dies in the process of saving him.
However, the trailer does not explain who revives Black Adam. While coexisting as a reincarnated person, he gains superpowers equivalent to god. The superpowers include strength, stamina, courage, speed, and the ability to fly.
According to the trailer, the movie also features a fictional criminal gang named Intergang. Intergang is going to be the enemy of Black Adam.
Writer Sztykiel wrote a sitcom for Undateable, so there are chances that the movie will be humor-based action.
When is Black Adam Releasing?
Previously, the movie was scheduled to release on 22nd December 2021, after the first COVID outbreak. Again, it was planned for 29th July 2022 but was changed due to the workload on visual effects.
Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the movie. Black Adam is releasing theatrically on 21st October 2022 in the US. Moreover, after 45 days, it will stream on HBO Max.
What to expect?
The forthcoming movie is going to be different than other DC movies. Other DC movies appoint superheroes as the main character. Nevertheless, this movie casts an anti-hero as a protagonist.
Director Collet-Serra is also debuting with this DCEU movie in the superhero genre. Writer Sztykiel’s former works were original comedies. Hence, the movie might be eccentric and creative with the engagement of all new crews.

Is there any planning for the sequel?
Even though DCEU has a big goal for Black Adam, there is no verification about the sequel yet. In 2017, Johnson stated that Adam and Shazam would have a face-off in the future. Similarly, Henry Cavill, Superman in DCEU, teased about a probable encounter between Black Adam and Superman. Thus, the sequel ultimately depends on the success of Black Adam.
